Ya a estas alturas todos saben que Haiti sufrio un terremoto muy fuerte. Ese pais de por si no tiene muchos recursos y al ser embatido por un desastre natural de esta magnitud se encuentra en un estado de crisis del cual no sera facil recuperarse. Los estimados dicen de unos 100,000 personas muertas pero segun algunas personas que estan en el area el numero subira ya que mucho de los sobrevivientes no tienen forma de ser atendidos.

Ninguno de nosotros quisiera pasar por eso...Haci que lo menos que se puede hacer es desearle lo mejor a las personas que estan en Haiti y contribuir con lo que uno pueda mediante una donacion. La manera mas facil de donar una peque-a cantidad de dinero es mandando un mensaje de texto con la palabra "Yele" al numero 501501 , al mandar el mensaje estaras donando $5, tambien puedes textear "Haiti" al 90999 para donar $10.

NY Times published an article today about how the Manhattan H&M destroys their unsold clothe. Apparently the homeless people from around the area search there frequently looking for any wearable left overs to use. I mean ...How difficult is it for H&M to donate their unsold clothe?

I do understand that they might be protecting the brand but there must be a way around that. Now their getting tons of backlash in Twitter and I'm sure there's more to come from other types of media.

What are your thoughts on this? Will it affect your shopping there?

El NY Times publico un articulo hoy donde segun ellos la tienda H&M de la ciudad de Manhattan destruye la ropa que no vende. Algunos vagabundos que rodan esa area acostumbran ir a los zafacones de la tienda y buscar entre la ropa rota a ver si encuentra algo bueno para ponerse...

No seria mas facil para H&M donar esta ropa algun shelter? Y entiendo que quizas lo hacen para proteger su marca, pero que les cuesta sentarse un dia y encontrar la manera de resolver eso, nose marcar las camisas como "donadas" o algo. Tanta gente con necesidad y ellos botando lo que no venden...

Hubiesen hecho esto y se hubiesen evitado el "baclash" que han tenido durante el dia de hoy en Twitter y el que esta por venir en los proximos dias de otros medios.

A local blogger from San Juan(PR) wrote an aricle for StyleSample Mag about the fashion scene around here. For those who dont know I currently live on a small caribbean island called Puerto Rico, which is full of beaches,malls,good music and partiess everywhere you go.

In the article she describes the scene in the town of San Juan which is north of where I live but pretty much the same. Its a pretty good read about how the fashion scene is around here, it also talks a little about the good places around to hang out. Go check it out here

Para los que no saben , vivo en una isla tropical en el mar caribe llamada Puerto Rico, esta isla esta llena de playa, malls, buena musica y fiesta en todas las esquinas. La moda no es algo que todo el mundo sigue pero si hay personas como Fi Figueroa que hacen su mejor intento para seguir expandiendo el interes, como parte de esa larga y fuerte mision escribio un articulo para StyleSampler Magazine sobre la moda en Puerto Rico.

En el articulo describe mayormente la escena en el pueblo de San Juan, haci que si no eres de halla y quieres saber donde esta lo bueno te recomiendo que lo leas y aunque seas de halla puede que descubras un buen sitio de jangueo que no sabias que existia.

Felicitaciones a Fi Figueroa por el articulo, visiten su blog y muestren apoyo a los talentos locales.

I hope you had a great NYE and that this few first days of the new year have treated you in a good way. I celebrated the new year with a couple of my friends, after a night of party I arrived at my house at 8:30 am so you can imagine how awesome that night was.

The next day I just rested...because the day after that was the Coorslight Soundfield. For those that don't know, that's a massive Techno party that lasts from 5pm to 5am, but because of the previous nights I felt exhausted right around 3 am so we leaved early. Here's a short video

Espero que todos hallan recibido este nuevo a-o de una buena manera y que hallan celebrado lo mas que puedan. Yo lo celebre con mis amigos , llegamos a nuestros hogares a eso de las 8:30 am haci que se pueden imaginar como estuvo esa fiesta.

Luego de eso tuve un dia de descanzo fuy al Coorslight Soundfield donde estuve brincando/bebiendo/bailando desde las 10pm hasta eso de las 3am, aunque eso duraba hasta las 5am ya a esa hora no podia mas con mi cuerpo. No eh tenido mucho tiempo para ponerme al dia con nada. Hoy me levante y ni sabia que dia era.

The new year is just around the corner, so lets all wave goodbye to a year filled with highs and lows. This has been an exciting year for me especially the last couples of months, starting this blog is one of those things that made it more interesting.

For 2010 I plan to take this a little more serious, I want to go commercial (like I told a friend of mine ahah). Im gonna go back to the English/Spanish blogging format, set up a new twitter just for the blog, facebook and a myspace. Hopefully ill have a camera with me whenever I go out .... believe me that's one of my top priority's.

Mawi is a jewelry design company born in London, their pieces are well known because of their simple yet stunning designs. The ring you see above is one of the designs from their current Costume Luxe 09 collection which you can see here.

Their new collection which looks even better is divided in two. The first part is the Costume Luxe which is made entirely in metals.

The second part is called Heirloom, which has a more tradional and elegant yet they still look stunning.

I got an obssesion with this shades since I first saw them on the V magazine cover that Lady Gaga did for them. After that they were modelled on the Marc Jacobs Winter 2009 runway ,I've been looking for info on price and havent been able to find any.

Here's a short film made by Spike Jonze where Kanye West is the protagonist. The tittle is based off a Kanye songs which is titled " See You In My Nightmares", during the movie you can hear the song playing on the background and there is where a drunk of champagne Kanye starts doing his thing .

The short film is a little weird and confusing at the beginning but the ending is good, seems to be inspired by the movie "Where The Wild Things Are". Anyway check it out here- Vimeo.com

This thursday I wen to the mall with a couple of friends looking to buy some cloth. I went into all of the men clothes stores in the mall(not many in this particullar mall) just looking around but dint find anything interesting. So we eated something and decided to take one last look...

This one shoes caught my attention but the color dint convince me...ooh well I ended up buying them anyways

And today I found this jacket that caught my attention instantly:

It has a nice low price tag and it looks damn good to me. The only problem is that I dont know if to buy it black or blue.

El jueves fuy al mall con unos amigos buscano algo que comprar. Entre a todas las tiendas que tienen ropa de hombre(que en Plaza son muy pocas) mirando y luego de verlas todas no habia nada interesante. Fuy a comer y volvi. En una de las tiendas tenian unos zapatos en una esquina casi escondidos y aunque el color no me convencia mucho termine comprandolos.

Y hoy chequiando mas ropa online encontre este jacket.

Tiene un buen precio y ya estoy casi seguro que lo comprare, la pregunta ahora es si lo cojo en azul o negro.

I just went to their site. I like a lot of their cloth but the one that most standed out was this trousers, I just love the material their made from. Ooh and the shoes even thou they are not innovative or nothing you have seen before, the white and grey combination caught my attention :)

Pantalones y Zapatos por Band Of Outsiders. Acabo de chequar su ropa hoy y me gusta, pero odio su website sinceramente no lo entiendo. Usan unos effectos en las fotos que no las paso.

Volviendo al tema ah, me encantan del material que estan hechos los pantalones y el peque-o bolsillo que tienen . Los zapatos aunque no son algo que no e visto antes me gusto mucho como luce la combinacion de blanco y gris en ellos.

Today while browsing Mensrag.com I found Gianfranco Ferrer collection. Like I said about Bailmain's collection, this one has everysingle one of my obssesions in clothing right now , sequins,jackets and shoulder pads. The best of all is that unlike Balmains colletion this one is for men, so I can actually wear it(day dreaming ha)

My favorite pieces is the first jacket...I dont know what material is used but it reminds me of old Michael Jackson jackets.Anyway I love the entire collection and hope everyone shares the same feeling :)

Hoy encontre en Mensrag.com la coleccion de Gianfranco Ferrer. Como dije en el post sobre la coleccion de Balmain, tiene todo lo que ahora mismo me gusta en cuestion de diseño; brillo, jackets, shoulder pads. Lo mejor de todo es que encontrario a la de Bailmain esta es de hombre.

Mi favorito es el primer jacket lleno de brillo, me recuerda a los jackets que usaba Michael Jackson. Tambien la camiza de botones que tiene el cuello de brillo y el doblez de las mangas brillozo, esos detalles haci siempre me llaman la atencion.

En general.... me gusta la coleccion completa :)

Me gusta mucho la nueva mode de usar todo negro o combinar el gris con el negro. Sinceramente nunca me han gusta mucho las camisas con colores brillosos o muy claros.
